Program rejected invalid policy sccm9/1/2023 ![]() ![]() This is when I found messages in the ClientIDStartupManager.log file saying registration for GUID had been rejected by the server. At this point, I started digging a little deeper. After the reinstall completed there was a very limited set of logs in the C:\Windows\CCM\Logs directory, and even though ccmsetup.log showed Exit 0, install succeeded, things still weren’t right. I proceeded to uninstall/reinstall the client. None of the log files had been written to in months. ![]() Looking at the logs on the devices, they had not updated in quite some time… it was as if the client was installed and everything was normal, but nothing was happening. Looking the devices up in the console they both showed “No” under the client column. There were two Server 2008 R2 SQL servers that were a member of a cluster that were not checking in, and apparently hadn’t been for quite some time before it was brought to my attention. I recently ran into an issue I hadn’t seen before, and ended up having to engage Microsoft support to get it resolved, so thought I would share what I learned.
